You need to determine if the problem is in the fax machine or if the caller ID isn’t being sent to it. Can you plug a standard phone capable of caller ID into the fax line? If so, do that had have somebody call it. It doesn’t have to be from a fax machine. You’re just testing the line to see if the caller ID information gets through. Or, if you have caller ID on your voice line plug the fax machine into that and see if it displays the caller ID. If the phone displays the caller ID on the fax line then there is a problem with the fax machine. If the fax machine displays the caller ID on the voice line then the fax line isn’t delivering the information. Displaying your number may be a default if not caller ID is received. If you get caller ID on the fax line, check the user manual and see if it has a troubleshooting section or help guide. Check the factory web site for other help.
